small critque
So for my homework this week i had a few poeple look over my website for a any errors or any design tips
The white background was too plain and really made the whole page feel empty
I fixed this problem by adding a texture to the background of white linen paper.
i was also told that my links being green was a little odd
im still thinking about changing the colors of them two a tint of green or back to black
other than that people really enjoyed my website and felt that it was well laid out and flowed nicely.

My Web code
so for our homework this week we need to talk about our websites code and all that fun jazz. So to give you a little peak behind my site here we go. I really wanted to keep my code simple, clean, and to the point. I don't have a lot of extra crud clogging my HTML its mostly just divs and very few images other than my Portfolio work. I put all of my decorations in my CSS and all the Jquery files are linked in my head. I also used Meta tags to help with search engines.

an intersting tutorial
so for homework we had to teach ourselve a tutroial froma blog posted under week 7 at casabasa.com and i have to say it was painful. something i have always told myself is that if it cant be broken down into code its not worth the time. why? because i want my site to be read without fancy photoshop images or tricks i want to show how code can be better than relying on photoshop. but that is just me.
but never the less here is what i did

So i forgot to post this...
For my website i was so caught up in working on side projects i forgot my BLOG!!!!!! *oh noes!* But i am back on track. I'm keeping the same design that i have now. I know i was talking about making a new website but with all the projects i have now i don't have time and i think that the site i constructed before just need a little tweaking and it will be finished.
So as for my pages and templates Its a little hard. My website is actually one giant page that uses jquery to scroll around with ease and style.
but here is a zoomed out screen shot of my site

Target Audience
Moxiespunk.com is a personal online portfolio for myself Patrick Loranger. For my Design Ideas on the website I have taken an unusual approach to my normal web work and layout. Using a fixed floating box that is elastic to the window size it allows the website to keep its integrity even when viewed on a larger monitor. Also using a repeating background of diagonal stripes it adds visual interest to the empty parts of the page, but not causing a distraction, due to its neutral colors.
Concerning the links, I decided that I would go for a more basic and simple layout using only 2 main links in the header, showing only Design Work and Photography, more links could easily be added or subtracted when the need arises. Using a tall 3 column layout my about me would be loaded at all times in the right bar so it is always on the page but slightly out of the way. The thumbnails of the work will load in the left bar and when clicked will load the images into the main part of the middle column.
Navigation will be very easy through the website I want to keep the amount of pages that connect to a minimum for easy navigation shake. A forum page to contact me will be linked to the bottom of the navigation. Using a design book I will create an interesting and visually appealing forum.

Portfolio Reworking.....
I have this quarter at school decided that since im so close to the finishline that I need to start reworking my portfolio and some one the pieces that are in it. I have reworked about 3 pieces so far and am in the process of trying to get new product shots of my other newer pieces. This is going to be a rough quarter.

Here is a more flushed out version of my website layout that I have put much design effort into.... :) so my target goal for this page design is to convey my sense of design and professionalism whille still keeping a fun and unique quark that is so typical of my design style.
- the buttons are going to be simple and limmited to 2 main buttons with sub cattegorys that will pop up in the right hand bar.
- the logo will redirect u to my splash page.
- Showcasing my work will be hover-state or click thumbnails that will load in the center box.
Design thumbnails for my website!
Here are a few roughed out sketches of general layouts for my website that I was messing around with. I really want to try something that is a little more typical of a website and a little lest artsy extreme.

One of my inspiration!
Jessica Rabbit!!!! Yes one of my gifts for Christmas was a 9 inch bust of my second favorite Disney Character. I keep this near my work desk so i can always look at it and get reinvigorated with her awesomeness!!
Inspirations
The Web Designers Idea Book This book is an amazing collection of some of the most amazingly design and structured websites i have seen ever.
Brainfood.com This website is unique in the way that it does happen to take a few seconds to load but well worth the wait. I love their colors and the animation of the header drawing itself. the icon also changes the longer u wait. Also looking through their portfolio was an amazing thing.
